Description

Air Fryer Whole Chicken is a quick and easy way to get crispy skin and juicy meat using your air fryer, perfect for a fuss-free weeknight meal or Sunday dinner.

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (3.5 to 4 lbs)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 360°F (180°C).
  2. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels.
  3. Rub the chicken all over with olive oil.
  4. In a small bowl, mix salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and thyme.
  5. Season the chicken inside and out with the spice mixture.
  6. Place the chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
  7. Cook for 30 minutes, then flip the chicken breast-side up and cook for another 25-30 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  8. Let the chicken rest for 10 minutes before carving and serving.

Notes

  • Cooking time may vary based on the size of your chicken and air fryer model.
  • Use a meat thermometer to ensure doneness.
  • Letting the chicken rest helps retain juices when carving.
