- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tub (16 oz) vanilla or cream cheese frosting
- 1/2 cup blueberries
- 1 cup sliced strawberries
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease or line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in eggs and vanilla until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Stir in chocolate chips, then press dough evenly into the prepared pan.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until edges are golden and the center is set. Let cool completely in the pan.
- Once cooled, spread frosting evenly over the top.
- In the top left corner, create a square of blueberries for the stars section.
- Arrange rows of sliced strawberries and white frosting stripes across the rest of the cake to mimic the flag pattern.
- Chill for 30 minutes before slicing and serving.

- Use piping bags for cleaner stripes and better detail.
- Cool cookie cake completely before frosting to avoid melting.
- Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Use a star piping tip for extra festive decoration.
