Description
Baked Feta Pasta is a viral, ultra-creamy pasta dish made by roasting feta cheese and cherry tomatoes until melty, then tossing with cooked pasta and fresh basil for a simple yet flavorful meal.
Ingredients
- 1 block (8 oz) feta cheese
- 2 cups cherry tomatoes
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- Salt and black pepper to taste
- 10 oz pasta (such as penne or rotini)
- 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Place the feta cheese block in the center of a baking dish. Surround it with cherry tomatoes.
- Drizzle olive oil over the feta and tomatoes. Sprinkle garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper on top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the tomatoes burst and the feta is soft and golden.
- Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain the rest.
- Remove the baking dish from the oven. Stir the melted feta and tomatoes until creamy and combined.
- Add cooked pasta and fresh basil to the dish. Toss everything together, adding pasta water as needed to reach desired creaminess.
- Serve warm, garnished with extra basil or Parmesan if desired.
Notes
- You can substitute feta with a plant-based cheese for a vegan version.
- Add spinach, olives, or grilled chicken for extra texture and flavor.
- Whole wheat or gluten-free pasta works well too.
