Description

Baked Feta Pasta is a viral, ultra-creamy pasta dish made by roasting feta cheese and cherry tomatoes until melty, then tossing with cooked pasta and fresh basil for a simple yet flavorful meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 block (8 oz) feta cheese
  • 2 cups cherry tomatoes
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 10 oz pasta (such as penne or rotini)
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the feta cheese block in the center of a baking dish. Surround it with cherry tomatoes.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the feta and tomatoes. Sprinkle garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper on top.
  4. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until the tomatoes burst and the feta is soft and golden.
  5. Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instructions. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water and drain the rest.
  6. Remove the baking dish from the oven. Stir the melted feta and tomatoes until creamy and combined.
  7. Add cooked pasta and fresh basil to the dish. Toss everything together, adding pasta water as needed to reach desired creaminess.
  8. Serve warm, garnished with extra basil or Parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • You can substitute feta with a plant-based cheese for a vegan version.
  • Add spinach, olives, or grilled chicken for extra texture and flavor.
  • Whole wheat or gluten-free pasta works well too.
