Description
Baked Ham and Cheese Mozzarella Sticks are a savory, crispy snack made by wrapping mozzarella and ham in egg roll wrappers and baking them until golden. They’re perfect for parties, appetizers, or an after-school treat.
Ingredients
- 12 egg roll wrappers
- 12 mozzarella string cheese sticks
- 12 thin slices of deli ham
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- Cooking spray or olive oil (for baking)
- Marinara or ranch dressing (for dipping)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat with cooking spray.
- If desired, spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard on each slice of ham. Wrap each mozzarella stick with a slice of ham.
- Place the ham-wrapped cheese stick near one corner of an egg roll wrapper. Fold the sides in and roll up tightly, sealing the edge with a bit of beaten egg.
- Repeat with remaining ingredients.
- Place the wrapped sticks seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops lightly with egg wash and spray with cooking spray or brush with olive oil.
- Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, turning halfway through for even browning.
- Serve warm with marinara or ranch for dipping.
Notes
- For extra crunch, bake on a wire rack over the baking sheet.
- Make ahead and freeze before baking; bake from frozen, adding 5–7 minutes to the time.
- Try different cheeses or turkey slices for variation.
- Let cool slightly before eating as the cheese will be hot.
