Description
Best Lemon Garlic Shrimp is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender shrimp sautéed in a zesty lemon garlic butter sauce. Perfect as an appetizer, over pasta, or served with rice for a light and satisfying meal.
Ingredients
- 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)
- 1 teaspoon lemon zest
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
- Lemon wedges, for serving
Instructions
- Pat the shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
- Reduce heat to medium and add remaining butter to the skillet.
- Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Stir in lemon juice and zest, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
- Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 1 minute more to heat through.
- Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
- Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest flavor.
- Don’t overcook the shrimp—they cook quickly and become rubbery if overdone.
