Description

Best Lemon Garlic Shrimp is a quick and flavorful dish featuring tender shrimp sautéed in a zesty lemon garlic butter sauce. Perfect as an appetizer, over pasta, or served with rice for a light and satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 1 large lemon)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)
  • Lemon wedges, for serving

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry and season with salt and pepper.
  2. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add shrimp in a single layer and cook for 1–2 minutes per side, until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside.
  4. Reduce heat to medium and add remaining butter to the skillet.
  5. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, cooking until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
  6. Stir in lemon juice and zest, scraping up any browned bits from the pan.
  7. Return shrimp to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce. Cook for 1 minute more to heat through.
  8. Sprinkle with fresh parsley and serve immediately with lemon wedges.

Notes

  • Serve over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest flavor.
  • Don’t overcook the shrimp—they cook quickly and become rubbery if overdone.
