Description
Broiled Salmon Fillets are a quick, healthy, and flavorful main dish made by cooking salmon under high heat until perfectly caramelized on the outside and tender on the inside. Ideal for weeknight dinners or elegant meals.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional)
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon fresh chopped dill or parsley (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Preheat broiler to high and position oven rack about 6 inches from the heat source. Line a baking sheet with foil and lightly grease it.
- In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, garlic, Dijon mustard (if using), salt, and pepper.
- Place salmon fillets skin-side down on the prepared baking sheet.
- Brush the salmon evenly with the olive oil mixture.
- Broil for 6–8 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily with a fork. Cooking time may vary based on thickness.
- Remove from oven and garnish with fresh herbs if desired. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Watch closely while broiling to avoid overcooking or burning.
- Use a meat thermometer for precision—salmon is done at 145°F (63°C).
- Pair with rice, vegetables, or a fresh salad for a complete meal.
- Marinate salmon for 15–30 minutes for deeper flavor.
