Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 12 oz bowtie (farfalle) pasta
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (8 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (optional for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Cook bowtie pasta according to package directions; drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add diced onion and sauté until translucent.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook for another 1 minute.
  4. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  5. Stir in diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, beef broth, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  6. Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes to thicken slightly.
  7. Add cooked pasta to the skillet and stir to combine with the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle in cheddar cheese and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and well combined.
  9. Remove from heat, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve hot.

  • You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a leaner option.
  • Use a mix of mozzarella and cheddar for extra cheesy flavor.
