Description
Chicken and waffle sliders are a fun and savory-sweet appetizer or brunch item made by sandwiching crispy fried chicken between mini waffles, drizzled with syrup or honey.
Ingredients
- 12 mini frozen waffles
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenders
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Maple syrup or honey for serving
- Toothpicks or skewers for assembly
Instructions
- Slice chicken into slider-sized pieces. Marinate in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
- Preheat waffle maker or toast mini waffles according to package directions.
- In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, dredge in seasoned flour, and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
- Assemble sliders by placing a piece of fried chicken between two mini waffles. Secure with a toothpick or skewer.
- Drizzle with maple syrup or honey before serving.
