Description

Chicken and waffle sliders are a fun and savory-sweet appetizer or brunch item made by sandwiching crispy fried chicken between mini waffles, drizzled with syrup or honey.


Ingredients

  • 12 mini frozen waffles
  • 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts or tenders
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Maple syrup or honey for serving
  • Toothpicks or skewers for assembly


Instructions

  1. Slice chicken into slider-sized pieces. Marinate in buttermilk for at least 30 minutes or up to overnight.
  2. Preheat waffle maker or toast mini waffles according to package directions.
  3. In a shallow dish, mix flour, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  4. Heat about 1 inch of vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  5. Remove chicken from buttermilk, dredge in seasoned flour, and fry until golden brown and cooked through, about 3–4 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Assemble sliders by placing a piece of fried chicken between two mini waffles. Secure with a toothpick or skewer.
  7. Drizzle with maple syrup or honey before serving.
