- 3 cups peeled and sliced apples (about 3 medium apples)
- 2 cups fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss the apples and cranberries with granulated sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Spread evenly in the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, and salt. Pour in melted butter and stir until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the fruit.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the fruit is bubbling.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Serve warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
- Use a mix of tart and sweet apples for more depth of flavor.
- Can be made ahead and reheated before serving.
- Frozen cranberries can be used without thawing.
