- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/3 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- 8 oz mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 tbsp ketchup
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, chopped onion, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Form mixture into small meatballs, about 1 to 1.5 inches in diameter.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté sliced onion and mushrooms until softened, about 5 minutes.
- Sprinkle flour over the onion and mushroom mixture and cook for 1-2 minutes.
- Gradually stir in beef broth, ketchup, and Dijon mustard, scraping up any brown bits from the skillet.

- Serve hot over mashed potatoes, rice, or egg noodles.
Notes
- You can substitute ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
- Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- For extra richness, add a splash of heavy cream to the gravy.
