Description
A flavorful and aromatic dry rub designed to enhance the taste of ribs cooked in the oven. This dry rub is a perfect blend of spices to bring out the best in your ribs without the need for a sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tbsp chili powder
- 1 tbsp garlic powder
- 1 tbsp onion powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cumin
- 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
- 1/2 tsp mustard powder
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
- In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.
- Pat the ribs dry with paper towels to remove any moisture.
- Rub the dry rub mixture generously over both sides of the ribs, pressing it into the meat.
- Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
- Cover the ribs with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.
- For a crispy finish, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
- Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, and serve.
Notes
- This rub can be prepared ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
- You can adjust the heat level by adding more or less cayenne pepper, or even omitting it entirely.
- For extra flavor, you can brush the ribs with a thin layer of your favorite barbecue sauce during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
