Description

A flavorful and aromatic dry rub designed to enhance the taste of ribs cooked in the oven. This dry rub is a perfect blend of spices to bring out the best in your ribs without the need for a sauce.

Ingredients

  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for heat)
  • 1/2 tsp mustard powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients and mix well.
  3. Pat the ribs dry with paper towels to remove any moisture.
  4. Rub the dry rub mixture generously over both sides of the ribs, pressing it into the meat.
  5. Place the ribs on a baking sheet lined with foil or parchment paper.
  6. Cover the ribs with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 2.5 to 3 hours, or until tender.
  7. For a crispy finish, remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes.
  8. Remove from the oven, let rest for a few minutes, and serve.

Notes

  • This rub can be prepared ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for up to 3 months.
  • You can adjust the heat level by adding more or less cayenne pepper, or even omitting it entirely.
  • For extra flavor, you can brush the ribs with a thin layer of your favorite barbecue sauce during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
