Description

Quick and flavorful chicken tacos made with seasoned shredded chicken, perfect for a weeknight dinner or casual meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb chicken breast or thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 packet taco seasoning (or homemade seasoning)
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 8 small flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded lettuce
  • 1/2 cup diced tomatoes
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1/4 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup salsa
  • 1 tablespoon fresh cilantro, chopped (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Add chicken and cook until browned and fully cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove from heat and let rest for a few minutes.
  2. Shred the cooked chicken using two forks.
  3. In the same pan, add the taco seasoning and chicken broth. Stir to combine and cook for 2-3 minutes until the chicken is fully coated in the seasoning mixture.
  4. Warm the tortillas in the microwave or on a dry skillet over low heat for about 30 seconds per side.
  5. To assemble the tacos, divide the seasoned chicken among the tortillas. Top with shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, shredded cheese, sour cream, salsa, and cilantro (if using).
  6. Serve immediately and enjoy your easy chicken tacos!

Notes

  • Feel free to customize toppings such as guacamole, jalapeños, or avocado slices.
  • If you prefer, use ground chicken instead of shredded for a different texture.
  • This recipe is easily doubled for larger groups.
