- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and continue to cook until it turns golden brown and smells nutty. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, and browned butter until combined.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, then whisk until smooth.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, matcha powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Cover the dough and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Scoop tablespoon-sized amounts of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the centers look slightly underdone.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Chilling the dough helps prevent spreading and enhances flavor.
- Use high-quality matcha for the best color and taste.
- You can freeze the dough for up to 2 months for later use.
