Description

These Funfetti Cinnamon Rolls are a colorful twist on a classic breakfast treat, featuring a soft dough filled with cinnamon-sugar and rainbow sprinkles, topped with a sweet vanilla glaze.


Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 1/4 tsp active dry yeast
  • 1/2 cup whole milk, warm
  • 1/4 cup water, warm
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/2 cup rainbow sprinkles
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter, softened (for filling)
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tbsp milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of flour, sugar, salt, and yeast.
  2. Add warm milk, warm water, melted butter, and egg. Mix until combined.
  3. Add remaining flour gradually and knead until a soft dough forms, about 5–7 minutes.
  4. Fold in rainbow sprinkles gently into the dough.
  5. Cover and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
  6. Roll dough into a rectangle on a floured surface.
  7. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with a mixture of brown sugar and cinnamon.
  8. Roll the dough tightly and slice into 9–12 rolls.
  9. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, cover, and let rise for 30 minutes.
  10. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Mix powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk to make the glaze.
  12. Drizzle glaze over warm rolls and serve.

Notes

  • Add more or fewer sprinkles depending on your preference.
  • Make the dough the night before and bake fresh in the morning.
  • Use parchment paper for easy cleanup.
