Description

Lemon Caper Sauce is a bright and tangy condiment made with lemon juice, capers, garlic, and butter. It’s the perfect finishing touch for fish, chicken, or vegetables, adding a burst of flavor to any dish.

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons capers, drained
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth or vegetable broth
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil and butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Stir in capers and cook for another minute.
  4. Pour in lemon juice and broth, stirring to combine.
  5. Simmer the sauce for 3–4 minutes to slightly reduce and blend the flavors.
  6. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. Remove from heat and stir in parsley if using. Serve warm over your preferred dish.

Notes

  • For a creamier version, whisk in a tablespoon of heavy cream at the end.
  • This sauce pairs especially well with chicken piccata, salmon, or roasted vegetables.
  • Use low-sodium broth if you prefer a lighter salt profile.
