Description

Creamy mashed potatoes blended with melted cheese for a rich and comforting side dish, perfect for any meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes (Yukon Gold or Russet), peeled and cubed
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup milk (more as needed)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Ground black pepper to taste
  • Chopped chives or parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the peeled and cubed potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water. Add a pinch of salt.
  2. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, then reduce to a simmer. Cook until potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
  3. Drain the potatoes and return them to the pot.
  4. Add butter and mash the potatoes until smooth.
  5. Gradually stir in milk until the desired consistency is reached.
  6. Mix in the shredded cheddar cheese until fully melted and incorporated.
  7. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Garnish with chopped chives or parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Use warm milk to keep the mashed potatoes hot and smooth.
  • For extra flavor, try mixing in garlic powder or roasted garlic.
  • You can substitute cheddar with other cheeses like mozzarella or parmesan.
