Description

Million Dollar Spaghetti Casserole is a rich and hearty baked pasta dish layered with spaghetti, creamy cheese filling, savory meat sauce, and topped with melted cheese. It’s the ultimate comfort food perfect for feeding a crowd.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara or pasta sauce
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Lightly grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and toss with butter.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Drain excess fat. Add marinara sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a bowl, mix cream cheese, cottage cheese, and sour cream until well combined.
  5. Spread half of the spaghetti in the baking dish. Layer with the cheese mixture, then the remaining spaghetti.
  6. Pour meat sauce evenly over the top.
  7. Sprinkle with mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Bake uncovered for 30–35 minutes, until bubbly and golden on top.
  9. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Substitute ricotta cheese for cottage cheese if preferred.
  • Use Italian sausage for extra flavor instead of ground beef.
  • This dish freezes well—prepare ahead and bake from frozen (add extra time).
