Description
Patriotic Pretzel Rods are a simple and festive treat made by dipping crunchy pretzel rods in melted candy coating and decorating them with red, white, and blue sprinkles—perfect for 4th of July celebrations and easy to make with kids.
Ingredients
- 12 pretzel rods
- 1 cup white candy melts or white chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup red candy melts
- 1/2 cup blue candy melts
- Red, white, and blue sprinkles
- Wax paper or parchment paper
Instructions
- Line a baking sheet with wax or parchment paper.
- Melt white candy melts (or white chocolate) in a microwave-safe bowl according to package instructions, stirring until smooth.
- Dip each pretzel rod about 2/3 of the way into the melted white coating and gently shake off excess. Place on prepared baking sheet.
- Melt red and blue candy melts in separate bowls. Use a spoon or piping bag to drizzle red and blue over the coated pretzels.
- Immediately add patriotic sprinkles before the coating sets.
- Allow to cool and harden completely at room temperature (or refrigerate briefly to speed up).
- Once set, store in an airtight container until ready to serve.
Notes
- Use gel food coloring only if coloring your own white chocolate—avoid water-based colorings.
- Great for party favors when wrapped in cellophane and tied with ribbon.
- Can substitute chocolate or peanut butter candy coating for different flavors.
- Ensure candy melts are fully set before stacking or packaging.
