Description

Perfect Chocolate Chip Cookies are soft in the center, chewy on the edges, and loaded with rich chocolate chips. A classic treat that’s easy to make and always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until just combined.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake for 9–11 minutes, or until edges are golden and centers are still soft.
  9. Let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

  • Chill dough for 30 minutes for thicker cookies.
  • Use a mix of chocolate chips and chunks for texture.
  • Cookies will continue to bake slightly on the sheet after removing from oven.
