Description

Red, White & Blue American Flag Jello Shots are festive, layered gelatin treats made with red and blue jello, and a creamy white layer in between. Perfect for 4th of July parties, these boozy bites resemble the American flag and are a fun way to celebrate.

Ingredients

  • 1 box (3 oz) strawberry or cherry Jell-O
  • 1 box (3 oz) blue raspberry Jell-O
  • 1 envelope unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 1/2 cups boiling water (divided)
  • 1 cup cold water (divided)
  • 1 cup vodka (divided)
  • Red, white, and blue sprinkles or whipped cream (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the red layer: In a bowl, combine red Jell-O with 1 cup boiling water. Stir until dissolved, then add 1/2 cup vodka and 1/2 cup cold water. Pour into small plastic cups, filling 1/3 of the way. Chill for 1 hour or until set.
  2. Prepare the white layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Add 1/2 cup boiling water and stir until dissolved. Stir in sweetened condensed milk and let cool. Pour gently over red layer and refrigerate until set (about 1 hour).
  3. Prepare the blue layer: Mix blue Jell-O with 1 cup boiling water until dissolved. Add 1/2 cup vodka and 1/2 cup cold water. Let cool slightly, then pour over white layer. Chill until fully set (1–2 hours).
  4. Top with whipped cream and sprinkles if desired before serving.

Notes

  • Use a turkey baster or pour spout to help layer neatly.
  • To make non-alcoholic, replace vodka with cold water or juice.
  • Can be made up to 2 days in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
  • Chill each layer fully before adding the next to prevent colors from bleeding.
