Rich, dense, and ultra-chocolatey fudge brownies made with a special dash of espresso for enhanced depth of flavor.

- 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup (200g) granulated sugar
- 1 cup (220g) brown sugar, packed
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup (80g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup (125g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp instant espresso powder (special dash)
- 1 cup (175g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until well combined.
- Add the eggs one at a time, whisking well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
- Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, baking powder, and espresso powder. Mix until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips gently with a spatula.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
- For extra fudgy brownies, do not overbake.
- You can omit the espresso powder, but it enhances the chocolate flavor.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
