- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 2 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract.
- Whisk in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder until well combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips and walnuts (if using).
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Allow to cool in the pan before cutting into squares.
Notes
- For extra gooey brownies, slightly underbake by 2-3 minutes.
- Add a sprinkle of sea salt on top before baking for a gourmet touch.
- Store in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
