Description

Roasted Balsamic Brussels Sprouts are a savory-sweet side dish made by roasting Brussels sprouts until crispy and drizzling them with tangy balsamic glaze. A simple, flavorful recipe perfect for holidays or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional for added sweetness)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, toss Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Spread the sprouts in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet, cut side down.
  4. Roast for 20–25 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden and crispy on the edges.
  5. While roasting, mix balsamic vinegar and honey (if using) in a small saucepan over low heat. Simmer for 3–5 minutes until slightly reduced.
  6. Drizzle the roasted Brussels sprouts with the balsamic reduction before serving.

Notes

  • Use aged balsamic vinegar for deeper flavor without reducing.
  • Top with toasted nuts or shaved Parmesan for extra texture and flavor.
  • Double the recipe for larger gatherings or holiday meals.
