Description
Salmon patties are a quick and easy dish made with canned or cooked salmon, breadcrumbs, and seasonings, pan-fried until golden and crispy on the outside.
Ingredients
- 1 (14.75 oz) can salmon, drained and flaked
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil (for frying)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flaked salmon, breadcrumbs, onion, parsley, eggs, lemon juice, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into 6–8 patties, about 1/2 inch thick.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Place the patties in the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil. Serve warm.
Notes
- For a lighter version, bake the patties at 400°F for 15–20 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Leftover cooked salmon can be used instead of canned salmon.
- Serve with tartar sauce, lemon wedges, or over a salad.
