Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Legs are fall-off-the-bone tender, coated in a sticky sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, making them a perfect family-friendly dinner.
Ingredients
- 8 chicken legs (drumsticks)
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 1/4 cup ketchup
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
- Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place chicken legs in the bottom of a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, basil, and pepper.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken legs, making sure they are well coated.
- Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
- Optional: Remove chicken and transfer sauce to a small saucepan. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook over medium heat until thickened, then pour over chicken.
- Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- For crispier skin, broil the chicken legs for a few minutes after slow cooking.
- Serve over rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
- Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
