Description

Slow Cooker Honey Garlic Chicken Legs are fall-off-the-bone tender, coated in a sticky sweet and savory honey garlic sauce, making them a perfect family-friendly dinner.

Ingredients

  • 8 chicken legs (drumsticks)
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water (optional, for thickening)
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place chicken legs in the bottom of a slow cooker.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, ketchup, garlic, basil, and pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce over the chicken legs, making sure they are well coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until chicken is fully cooked and tender.
  5. Optional: Remove chicken and transfer sauce to a small saucepan. Stir in cornstarch slurry and cook over medium heat until thickened, then pour over chicken.
  6. Garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds before serving.

Notes

  • For crispier skin, broil the chicken legs for a few minutes after slow cooking.
  • Serve over rice or steamed vegetables for a complete meal.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 3 days.
