- 1 ounce fresh lime juice
- 2 ounces fresh pineapple juice
- 1/2 ounce orange liqueur (e.g., Cointreau)
- 1/2 ounce agave nectar (adjust to taste)
- 2–3 slices fresh jalapeño (adjust for spice level)
- Ice
- Tajin or chili powder and salt, for rimming (optional)
- Lime wedge and pineapple slice, for garnish
Instructions
- Optional: Rim a rocks glass with lime and dip in a mix of Tajin or chili powder and salt. Fill the glass with ice.
- In a shaker, muddle the jalapeño slices with lime juice.
- Add mezcal, pineapple juice, orange liqueur, agave nectar, and ice to the shaker. Shake vigorously for 15–20 seconds.
- Strain into the prepared glass over fresh ice.
- Garnish with a lime wedge and a pineapple slice. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust jalapeño to your heat preference—remove seeds for less spice.
- Use fresh pineapple juice for the best flavor.
- Can substitute tequila for mezcal if a less smoky taste is preferred.
