Description

Strawberry Mousse is a light and airy dessert made with fresh strawberries, whipped cream, and a hint of gelatin. It’s perfect for warm weather and can be served in cups or layered in cakes.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and chopped
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • Fresh strawberry slices for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, purée the strawberries with granulated sugar and lemon juice until smooth.
  2. In a small bowl, sprinkle gelatin over cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes.
  3. Gently heat the gelatin mixture until dissolved, then stir into the strawberry purée. Let cool to room temperature.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat the heavy cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold the cooled strawberry mixture into the whipped cream gently until fully combined.
  6. Spoon the mousse into serving cups and chill for at least 2 hours or until set.
  7. Garnish with strawberry slices before serving if desired.

Notes

  • Make sure the strawberry purée is completely cool before folding into the whipped cream.
  • You can substitute frozen strawberries (thawed and drained) if fresh are not available.
  • For a smoother texture, strain the purée before mixing in gelatin.
