Ingredients
Dough:
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
- pinch of salt
Additions:
- 3 tablespoons chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a small baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Mix the dough: In a small bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth. Stir in the vanilla extract and egg yolk until well combined. Add the flour, baking soda, and salt, and mix until just combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Shape and bake: Divide the dough into two equal portions and shape into large cookie rounds on the baking sheet. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are just set.
- Cool and enjoy: Let cool on the sheet for 5 minutes before enjoying warm.
