Description

Classic homemade banana bread that’s moist, flavorful, and perfect for using overripe bananas.


Ingredients

  • 3 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/3 cup melted butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 4×8 inch loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the ripe bananas with a fork until smooth.
  3. Stir the melted butter into the mashed bananas.
  4. Mix in the sugar, beaten egg, and vanilla extract.
  5. Sprinkle the baking soda and salt over the mixture and mix well.
  6. Stir in the flour until just incorporated.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan.
  8. Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  9. Let the bread cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • Use very ripe bananas for best flavor and sweetness.
  • Optional add-ins: chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or dried fruits.
  • Wrap and store in an airtight container for up to 3 days, or freeze for longer storage.
