Ingredients
Scale
- 2 slices thick-cut white bread or milk bread
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (softened)
- 1 tbsp honey (plus extra for drizzling)
- 1 tbsp sugar (optional, for extra crunch)
- Vanilla ice cream or whipped cream (for topping, optional)
- Fresh berries, bananas, or other fruits (optional)
- Cinnamon powder (optional, for dusting)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven or air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix the softened butter and honey until smooth. Add sugar if desired for extra crunch.
- Score the surface of the bread slices in a crisscross pattern, being careful not to cut all the way through.
- Spread the honey butter mixture evenly over the tops and into the cuts of each bread slice.
- Place the bread on a lined baking tray or into the air fryer basket.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the tops are golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream, a drizzle of honey, and fruits if using.
- Dust with cinnamon if desired and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use brioche or Japanese milk bread for the best texture and flavor.
- You can add a pinch of sea salt to the honey butter for a sweet-salty balance.
- This toast is best served warm for the crispiest texture.
