Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 whole snapper (about 2.53 pounds)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon thinly sliced
  • 4 garlic cloves minced
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter melted
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh dill
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Fresh dill sprigs and lemon wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Prepare the fish: Pat the snapper dry, make slashes on each side, rub with olive oil, season generously with salt and pepper.
  3. Stuff the cavity: Place lemon slices and dill sprigs inside the cavity.
  4. Make the butter sauce: Mix melted butter, minced garlic, chopped dill, and lemon juice.
  5. Bake the fish: Spoon half of the butter sauce over the fish, bake for 25–30 minutes, basting halfway through.
